Assembly Line
On the ringing of the school bell children are required to line up in their appropriate class groups, to be ready for school announcements and prayer.
Corridors
After assembly children will move to their classrooms, class by class, in silence. Running or talking on corridors is forbidden at all times.
Classrooms
A high standard of behaviour is expected in the classroom, especially should a teacher be called out of a class for any reason, or during lunch breaks.
Yard
Classes are allocated certain well defined areas of the yard for play and must in as far as is possible remain within those areas.
Crossing the Road
Children must co-operate with their teachers and or the school warden when crossing the road.
The Role of the School Principal
The Principal, in as far as possible, will visit classrooms on a regular basis to encourage and praise examples of good behaviour and also to record officially incidents of misbehaviour.

The following may merit the immediate contacting of a child’s parents: -
Contacting Parents
Parents, following a discussion between the Class Teacher and the Principal, will be contacted/notified in writing where persistent incidents of misbehaviour occur and invited to come to the school to discuss their child’s behaviour. Care will be taken to give all parties a fair hearing before any action is taken.
Sanctions
Further regulations may be made or the present arrangements amended when necessity warrants it.

School Rules
- Class begins at 9.00 a.m. and ends at 2.40 p.m./ 1.40 p.m. for Jun./Sen.
- Pupils must attend school regularly and must be on time for class
- Being late or absences must be explained in writing by parents
- Homework must be completed by each pupil and checked and signed by parent
- No pupil will be permitted to leave the school during school hours except:
- in the company of a teacher
- in the company of (a), parents or their agents
- parents give written permission
- School uniform/tracksuit must be worn by all pupils
- Children must co-operate with school warden(s)
- No glass containers allowed in the school
- The wearing of jewellery in the interest of safety is discouraged
- Children are required to co-operate with the schools Healthy Lunch Programme
- Children are not allowed to play on grass areas
- To prevent injury to infants and parents football is not allowed before 9.00 a.m.
- Chewing gum and the use of tippex is forbidden
- Children are expected to line up to go to the toilet and behave properly when using toilets so that the toilets are kept clean and safe
- Climbing on the walls is not allowed
- Disappointing and/or Unacceptable Behaviour The following may be regarded as unacceptable behaviour and may be brought to the attention of parents: -
- Where the child deliberately refuses to produce homework of a standard equal to his/her ability, on a regular basis
- Roughness on playground, on corridors, in classrooms
- Name calling or being hurtful to other children
- Disrupting class
- Continually being late for class
The following may merit the immediate contacting of a child’s parents: -
- Acts of Defiance
- Swearing at a teacher or member of ancillary staff
- Throwing objects at a teacher
- Displays of temper
- Deliberate injury or insult to another child or behaviour likely to lead to an injury
- Bullying
- Deliberate damage to property
- Injury or insult to a member of the teaching or ancillary staff or to a visitor to the school
Contacting Parents
Parents, following a discussion between the Class Teacher and the Principal, will be contacted/notified in writing where persistent incidents of misbehaviour occur and invited to come to the school to discuss their child’s behaviour. Care will be taken to give all parties a fair hearing before any action is taken.
Sanctions
- Placing a child on report
- A child may be removed from his/her classroom and placed in the classroom of another member of staff to work on his/her own
- Parents, following a discussion between the class teacher and the principal, will be contacted by telephone or notified in writing where persistent incidents of misbehaviour with the class teacher and/or the principal
- If a child continues to misbehave or fails to cooperate the principal will contact the child’s parents/guardians to bring the child home for the remainder of the day to consider his/her behaviour
- That where a child continuously misbehaves during break times the parents of the child will be requested to supervise him/her during breaks.
- While the school will endeavour to keep a child, presenting with discipline problems, in school by working with the child and his parents/guardians, the rights and health and safety of the other children in the school and the staff of the school must be considered. Therefore in the case of gross misbehaviour suspension will be considered.
