Dia dhaoibh go léir a phaistí. This week you are about to read an extract from your English Reader entitled ‘ The Carpet Bicycle’. It is a fictional story and I think you will enjoy reading it. Think about the differences between Mr. Majeika and the regular classroom teacher that you have come to know. You may be inspired to read other fantasy books.
The weather has been really warm over the last few days. People all over the country have enjoyed the summer sunshine in various ways. That is why I have included the link on water safety this week. An adult may discuss water and farm safety with you at this time of year.
Stay Safe.

Mr.R Murphy.

Dia dhaoibh go léir a phaistí. This week you are about to read an extract from your English Reader entitled ‘ A Blind Man Catches a Bird’. I would encourage you to read this story slowly in order to take in the moral. It is a tale of friendship and forgiveness. I hope you will be able to learn from it and put the moral into practice in your everyday lives.
During this week I would like you to create a Time Capsule. Firstly I would like you to get a tin or a box which can be sealed. Label it ‘Time Capsule’.
‘Do not open until Christmas Day 2030’.
In this box I would like you to include some items
Have fun compiling your Time Capsule. You may have other ideas of your own on what to include. Ask an adult to store your box in a safe place for the future.
Stay Safe.

Dia dhaoibh go léir a phaistí. This week you are about to read an extract from your English Reader entitled ‘How it all Began’. You are familiar with the tales of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs’. This extract tells these tales from the point of view of the wolf. I hope this story brings back many memories of your younger self!
The topic of light is examined in your Geography and Science textbook this week. If time allows why not try one of the experiments with the help of an adult.
Stay Safe.

Mr.R Murphy.

Dia dhaoibh go léir a phaistí. This week in your English Reader you will read an extract called ‘Danger from the Deep’. As the title suggests this extract is action packed and fast paced. I am almost certain that you will enjoy reading it. Consider what it would be like if you were four hundred years old.

Remember to take a look at this week’s STEAM challenge over on Seesaw. Design and build your own high rise building using match sticks, boxes, cardboard, lego, shoe boxes or any suitable materials you can find at home. Bear in mind, that the steadier the base, the higher you will be able to build your high rise buildings. A steady base has opposite equal sides. Measure your length and width before building upwards. Record these measurements and document in your homeschool copy or on seesaw. I really look forward to seeing what you can come up.
Geography:
