Welcome parents, guardians and students and thank you for visiting our new website to learn about St. Mary’s National School, Croom.
We have a long and proud history at St. Mary’s of striving for excellence in our teaching and learning dating back over 150 years. We honour the traditions that we have established over this time drawing on the combined talents and skills of pupils, staff, parents and the local community of Croom. We are a Roman Catholic school and that is reflected in our practices but we welcome all religions and beliefs.
Our school motto is “Mol an Óige agus Tiocfaidh Sí” as it encompasses the ethos of the school where we reward and praise each child for their efforts through weekly assembly prizes, certificates and trophies. These recognise the uniqueness of each pupil and our school assembly gives them a platform to express themselves fully in front of their peers in a safe and respectful environment.
These are exciting times at St. Mary’s National School and there are many areas in the school under development by management, staff, parents and the wider community. This new website gives a snapshot of the great work undertaken every day by our dedicated and professional staff. It is through their efforts and expertise that every measure is taken in St. Mary’s for children to reach their true potential.
We are very fortunate to have a very active parents’ association at St. Mary’s National School, Croom. There is a dedicated “Parents’ Corner” on this website with information on school activities, helpful fact sheets and information on how to become more involved in the association.
I hope that our new website can inform you on our day-to-day school life and that you enjoy the visit”.
Le Gach Dea-Ghuí,
Mr. Emmett Murphy
